Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Full time or Part time Mobile Radiation Technologist specializing in X-Ray and Ultrasound (US) to join our growing healthcare team within the GTA. This role involves providing diagnostic imaging services at various patient locations, including long term care, retirement homes and private hospital settings. ensuring high-quality care and accurate imaging results. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent patient communication abilities, and familiarity with medical terminology. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with flexible scheduling options, contributing directly to patient health outcomes.

Duties

  • Perform diagnostic X-Ray and Ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
  • Operate mobile imaging equipment safely and efficiently at different healthcare facilities or patient homes.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, ensuring their comfort, and positioning them correctly.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of procedures performed, including images captured and patient information.
  • Ensure all imaging equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and sanitized following safety standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret imaging results when necessary and relay findings appropriately.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines related to radiation exposure and infection control practices.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in imaging technology and maintain certifications as required.

Skills

  • Proficiency in operating X-Ray and Ultrasound equipment with attention to detail for high-quality imaging.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret physician orders and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
  • Excellent patient care skills, including empathy, communication, and the ability to explain procedures clearly.
  • Ability to work independently in a mobile setting while managing multiple appointments efficiently.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to radiation protection and infection control standards.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying work environments and schedules. This role is vital in delivering timely diagnostic services directly at patient locations, supporting overall healthcare delivery with professionalism and technical expertise.

Qualifications

  • Current registration and member in good standing with the CMRITO
  • Professional liability insurance coverage
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License with a clean driving abstract
  • Demonstrated competency in general radiography procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and confidently in a mobile environment
  • Strong attention to detail, accountability, and professional judgment
