The Canadian Diagnostic Network (CDN) is Ottawa's trusted Radiology & Imaging services. Our focus centers on the patient and their family as we strive to meet their healthcare needs with personal attention and respect. Under the supervision of the Director(s) and Operations Coordinator(s), the mammography technologist will be responsible for producing beast images that provide maximum diagnostic information with the least amount of exposure to radiation, while providing maximum safety, privacy and confidentiality for the patient.

We are currently hiring a full time technologist for our Barrhaven Imaging location.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful completion of a recognized course in Medical Radiation Technology.
• Successful completion or enrollment of Breast Imaging 1 and 2 is an asset
• Be an active member of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
• Possess liability insurance (e.g. OAMRS)
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Intermediate proficiency in English, spoken and written. French is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and courteously with all types of people.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY AND ABILITIES (representative but not all inclusive):

• Must be able to work efficiently and independently.
• Ensure the proper functioning of the instruments and technical equipment. Ensure its maintenance and that the examination room is well maintained and supplied.
• Operate and maintain mammography equipment including digital and tomosynthesis systems
• Adhere to quality control standards set out by CARMAP
• Perform high quality mammography exams in accordance to OBSP and accreditation standards
• Use the PACS systems to manipulate data and images following examinations and complete all necessary documentation for each patient.
• Adhere to infection control policies.
• Perform duties to maintain cleanliness of facility.
• Remain compliant with continuing education requirements of CMRITO.
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
• Assess patient capabilities and limitations and adjust as necessary.
• Ensure that the patient has been properly informed about the examination and the nature of the study.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Required to assist patients with mobility issues.
• Move or transport any equipment as necessary.
• Required to stand/sit for long periods of time.
• Be in close contact with patients during positioning portion of exam.
