MRI Technologist – 6-Month Contract

Staff Housing Available
Travel Assistance Available
6-Month Contract with Potential Extension

Curaga Healthcare Group is seeking an experienced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist for a 6-month hospital contract in Northern Ontario.

The successful candidate will perform diagnostic MRI examinations as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Previous experience working with a 1.5 Tesla GE MRI system is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) in an eligible discipline
  • Graduate of a recognized MRI training program and CAMRT certification is preferred
  • Minimum one year of experience in an MRI setting preferred
  • Experience with a 1.5 Tesla GE MRI system strongly preferred
  • Certification in Contrast Injection, or willingness to obtain training, preferred
  • Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO) certification, or willingness to obtain training, preferred
  • Strong knowledge of MRI safety, patient screening and imaging protocols
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-centred approach
  • Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work with limited direct supervision and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic MRI scans according to established protocols, adapting examinations based on patient condition and clinical requirements
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining patient safety and comfort
  • Complete appropriate MRI safety screening and follow established safety procedures
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians and other technologists to support timely and accurate diagnoses
  • Perform routine quality assurance and equipment safety checks
  • Maintain accurate clinical and imaging documentation
  • Demonstrate cultural humility and awareness when supporting patients from diverse backgrounds, including Indigenous and First Nations communities
