Full job description

About the Company

We're an early-stage Ontario digital health company preparing to launch a virtual care platform. We're confidential pre-launch, so details are shared with shortlisted candidates under a confidentiality agreement.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Ontario Nurse Practitioner to consult on the clinical design of our patient intake system. You'll work directly with the founder to review and shape structured intake questionnaires, clinical screening criteria, and decision pathways across a range of common primary-care services — including laboratory testing, prescription renewals, and specialist referral workflows. Your job is to make sure every pathway collects what a reviewing clinician genuinely needs, screens out what doesn't belong in virtual care, and routes urgent presentations safely.

What You'll Do

- Review draft intake question sets service-by-service and red-pen them against real clinical practice.

- Define what information is required for a clinician to make a confident asynchronous decision.

- Identify red-flag presentations and where patients should be redirected to in-person or urgent care.

- Advise on appropriateness criteria, screening thresholds, and documentation standards.

- Recommend which services are and aren't suited to virtual delivery.

What You Have

- Current CNO registration in the Extended Class (NP) in good standing.

- 5+ years of primary care experience.

- Familiarity with virtual or asynchronous care models.

- Comfort working with structured protocols and questionnaire-based assessment.

- No current engagement with a directly competing virtual care service.

- Experience writing or reviewing clinical protocols, medical directives, or triage tools is a strong asset.

Engagement

Independent contractor, fully remote, flexible hours (estimated 10–20 hours to start, with potential for an expanded ongoing role). Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience. Confidentiality agreement required prior to detailed project disclosure.

To Apply

Send a brief note on your background with virtual care and protocol/directive work, your CNO registration number, and your hourly rate expectations.

Pay: $90.00-$130.00 per hour

Work Location: Remote
