South Hill Health Centre is seeking a Medical Office Assistant - Patient Triage Clerk for a One Year Maternity Leave Coverage position (Contract) to join our fast-paced work environment and awesome office team. We currently have 6 full-time experienced MOAs. This position would be a great opportunity for a recent MOA graduate to gain experience learning how a large medical office works.

The new medical office assistant will provide a full range of office administrative support services for South Hill in our community-based office. We are a paperless office and use MYLE EMR. You will also interact with staff in our sister program, South Community Birth Program (scbp.ca), located in the same office. Both clinics interface and support one another.

We are currently requiring that all employees be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Triaging patients at check-in and helping them to their appointment rooms
  • Managing the appointment screen
  • Creating patient charts in MYLE EMR
  • Multi-tasking at the front desk as patients arrive and leave
  • Prepping and cleaning examination rooms for procedures
  • Assisting patients with taking measurements, weight checks and using blood pressure machine
  • Calling patients who may have not check-in for their scheduled appointments
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed

Skills:

  • Medical Office Assistant Certificate
  • Communicates well and can work collaboratively with team members and patients
  • Ability to multi-task and keep up in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort and proficiency with computers and telephone (knowledge of an EMR system, particularly MYLE, would be an asset)

Time Requirements:

This is a permanent full-time position and starts immediately. The starting wage range is $20.00-$22.50/hour with an opportunity for growth within the company. This position is full-time with a Monday to Friday rotation.

Mandatory Requirements:

All health care employees must be vaccinated and show proof of vaccination. Our staff are required to wear masks during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pay: $20.50-$22.50 per hour
