Dental Assistant (Full-Time) — Peterborough, ON Lansdowne Place Dental | $25–$32/hr | Modern Practices

We are two well-established, patient-focused dental practices in Peterborough — Lansdowne Place Dental — seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our growing clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for both new graduates looking to build a strong clinical foundation and experienced assistants seeking a stable, long-term home in a collaborative environment.

Schedule

  • Full-time, approximately 32–40 hours per week
  • Weekday daytime and select evening shifts with added bonus structure.
  • Optional Saturday availability — flexible, based on assistant preference

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dentists during examinations, restorative, surgical, orthodontic, and pediatric procedures
  • Prepare and seat patients, review medical histories, and provide pre- and post-operative instructions
  • Take and process intraoral and extraoral radiographs in accordance with HARP and practice protocols
  • Maintain the highest standards of infection control, sterilization, and IPAC compliance (instrument reprocessing, operatory disinfection, sterilizer monitoring and spore testing)
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, treatment notes, and materials documentation using Open Dental
  • Coordinate impressions, models, and lab cases with dental laboratories
  • Manage inventory and restock clinical supplies in operatories
  • Reinforce oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care guidance under the direction of the dentist
  • Manage patient questions and concerns with professionalism and excellent customer service
  • Collaborate with dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care

Qualifications

Required

  • Level II Dental Assistant certification (HARP-certified for radiography)
  • Current CPR-HCP / BLS certification
  • Strong knowledge of infection control, IPAC, and RCDSO standards
  • Proficiency with Open Dental or similar dental practice management software
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and professional growth

Preferred

  • Minimum two (2) years of clinical chairside experience preferred — new graduates also welcome to apply
  • Experience with orthodontics, pediatrics, and surgical assisting
  • Experience with digital impression scanning and digital radiography workflows
  • Membership with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association (ODAA) — asset

Work Location: In person — Peterborough, Ontario (Lansdowne Place Dental)

Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
