Full job description

Position Summary:

The Chairside Dental Assistant is responsible for directly supporting the dentist during procedures, managing patient flow, and maintaining treatment records. This role requires strong attention to detail, efficiency, and excellent patient interaction skills.

Availability: Full Time including Saturdays

Key Responsibilities:

1. Basic Clinical Assistance

  • Take panoramic X-rays following safety protocols.
  • Set up trays for various procedures, ensuring instruments are ready for the provider.
  • Assist in restorative procedures, exams, and hygiene appointments as needed.

2. Clinical Support & Inventory Management

  • Maintain operatory cleanliness and ensure proper equipment functionality.
  • Manage and track inventory to prevent shortages of essential supplies.
  • Track inventory weekly to ensure all high-ticket items are counted for.

3. Patient Experience & Documentation

  • Ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Take and review X-rays, ensuring diagnostic quality.
  • Accurately document patient records and treatment notes.
  • Perform proper patient hand-offs to other team members.

4. Treatment Planning & Specialized Support

  • Assist in intraoral scanning and digital treatment planning.
  • Manage lab cases, ensuring timely processing and delivery.
  • Support orthodontic procedures and assist in endo/ortho surgeries.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or relevant certification from an accredited dental assisting program
  • Must have at least 2 years experience as a Dental Assistant (Level 2)
  • Knowledge of orthodontics, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), Dentrix, Epic, and medical terminology is preferred
  • Familiarity with dental procedures and instruments
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and maintain a professional appearance
