OVERVIEW:

Radiology Associates is a family of professional diagnostic imaging centres that prioritizes patient-centered care, first and foremost. Our clinic environment is fast-paced, requiring diligent accuracy to maintain highly confidential medical records. We believe that patients should feel safe and reassured in the care of capable employees who are truly committed to their positive experience. We are a leading provider of medical imaging and related services in our outpatient community and at the Chinook Regional Hospital. Through several state-of-the-art clinics in SW Alberta, we deliver diagnostic imaging excellence and high-quality services including a wide range of screening, diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Position Posting for Medical Office Receptionist Pain/Vein Clinic – Primary Location – RAI Scenic Drive Clinic:

Work Site:

RAI Scenic Drive is the primary site of work. May be required to work at other Radiology Associates affiliated clinics as necessary

Status:

Temporary 1.0 FTE

Start Date:

ASAP

Salary & Benefits:

$20.00 - $27.80 per hour commensurate to experience, RAI benefit plan after 90-day probationary period, RSP matching after 1 year

Hours of work:

77.5 hours per pay period (hours and days of work may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements)

Required:

Applicants must demonstrate an ability and commitment to maintain an acceptable level of absenteeism over an extended period of time as demonstrated by attendance awareness records.

Education/Certifications – Medical Office Receptionist - Pain/Vein Clinic:

o Previous experience with InteleRis is an asset

o Medical Terminology - strong knowledge required

o Previous experience in clinical or hospital environment is an asset

Mandate and Achievements – Medical Office Receptionist - Pain/Vein Clinic:

o Passion for putting our patients and referring clinicians first, ensuring they consistently receive an excellent level of service;

o Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others;

o Practice in accordance with the standards of professional practice as well as within a client and family-centred care model;

o Entering relevant data into the radiology information system – strong attention to detail and accuracy is required;

o Comprehensive knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care;

o Broad knowledge and practice of safe work procedures;

o Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families, coworkers, physicians, other health care staff, and staff of external agencies;

o Physical ability to perform the duties required of the position, including assistance with special procedures when required;

o Perform a wide variety of reception and administrative tasks as part of a dynamic, patient focused team;

o Develop an in-depth knowledge of Radiology Associates services, so that you can explain and ensure all patients understand their examination preparation and procedures;

o Administer and process patient information and requisitions efficiently, book and confirm patient appointments and ensure all information is accurate;

o Function as a knowledge-base and 'go-to-person' for the clinic team on patient navigation, assisting with inter-departmental communications and alerting technologists when appropriate of any patient concerns upon check-in, and scheduling examinations according to department protocol for each imaging modality;

o Attention to detail with an excellent knowledge of medical terminology, methodically proofreading requisitions, entering patient data and preparing USBs or CDs including correct billing codes;

o Anticipate the needs of our patients and referring physicians, act as an ambassador for Radiology Associates and always want to go one step further to provide the best experience possible;

o Strong focus on maintaining patient confidentiality in regards to their illnesses, treatment, and diagnosis;

o Concerned about the physical appearance of our clinics and comfort of our patients, assisting with cleaning and maintaining waiting rooms, washrooms, offices, and/or exam rooms on a regular and recurring basis;

o Contribute to personal and group projects that improve service delivery and processes across the company.

o Ability to work and travel to all Radiology Associates Clinics (when needed); vehicle and valid driver’s license is required;

o Enjoy working in a fast-paced, busy working environment, while maintaining a strong attention to detail;

o Excited to talk with people and take care of them – this may include caring for their children during their exam on occasion. Our patients and referring clinicians really matter to us and our goal is to work as a cohesive team to put them first;

o Outstanding phone etiquette and a positive attitude are essential to this role, ensuring the patient and referring clinician experience is as effortless as possible;

o Ability to express yourself in a clear, concise, and empathetic manner;

o Demonstrate professionalism with an ability to handle any stressful situation or patient/co-worker conflict by seeking positive and mature resolutions;

o Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize with changing workloads and schedule variances;

o Willingness to travel, adapt, and work within multiple clinics on a flexible schedule is required;

o Must have the initiative to work independently with minimal supervision (system reporting will be utilized when assessing job performance).
