Full job description

Carelynk — Operations Coordinator (Youth Program)
Job Description

Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia — [On-site / Hybrid]
Job type: Full-time — 12-month contract (funded term)
Pay: $26.00 / hour
Program note: This position is funded through a youth employment program. Applicants must be under 30 years of age at the start date to be eligible.

About Carelynk

Carelynk is a healthcare staffing marketplace that connects verified care professionals with facilities that need shifts filled. We help healthcare professionals like CCAs, LPNs, RNs and other care workers find work, and we help long-term care homes, clinics, and facilities cover their shifts — including on short notice.

About the Role

This is a 12-month contract role and the day-to-day engine of our marketplace. You'll help new care professionals get verified and ready to work, support the facilities that rely on us, and keep shifts filled — especially when schedulers call needing coverage fast.

You'll also be our eyes and ears on the ground. Because you'll see every hiccup and complaint first-hand, you'll keep a clear record of what's working and what isn't and share it with our team so we can keep improving the platform. This is a hands-on role with real ownership, close mentorship, and plenty of room to grow.

What You'll Do

  • Verify credentials and documents for new care professionals who sign up, following our compliance standards carefully and consistently.
  • Run welcome and onboarding calls to help new professionals complete their profiles.
  • Deliver orientation on how Carelynk works so professionals can confidently accept shifts.
  • Help facilities onboard and get their new staff set up on the platform.
  • Help keep our shift fill rate high, week over week.
  • Answer calls from staff and facility schedulers, including urgent short-notice requests to fill open shifts.
  • Keep a running log of recurring issues and feature ideas, and share clear, specific feedback with the team.
  • Follow up with staff and facilities when improvements are made.

What We're Looking For

  • Under 30 years of age at the start date (a requirement of the funding program).
  • 1–4 years of experience in coordination, scheduling, staffing, customer service, administration, or a care/health setting — or a related education with a strong drive to learn.
  • Calm and organized under pressure — you handle a busy, changing to-do list without dropping the ball.
  • A warm, clear communicator who's comfortable and confident on the phone.
  • Organized by instinct — you like trackers, checklists, and spreadsheets, and you turn chaos into order.
  • An ownership mindset — you follow through until the job is done.
  • Clear, concise writing — you can describe a problem specifically instead of vaguely.
  • Willing to help with occasional short-notice coverage (some evenings/weekends), with support from the team.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with the Nova Scotia care-worker landscape (CCA/nurse credentials, provincial rules).
  • Experience finding a better, faster way to do a repetitive task.

Why Join Carelynk

  • Real ownership and mentorship — you'll learn to run operations, not just do tasks.
  • Direct influence on our product through the feedback you gather.
  • Meaningful work keeping care facilities staffed and care professionals employed.
  • A focused 12-month term to build real, transferable operations experience with an early-stage company.

How to Apply

Apply with your resume and a short note about a time you kept things running smoothly under a tight deadline. Please confirm you meet the youth-program eligibility requirement.

Carelynk is an equal opportunity employer. The age requirement for this role applies solely because the position is funded through a designated youth employment program. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and are committed to an inclusive hiring process.
