POSITION: Medical Office Assistant

JOB TYPE: Full Time

LOCATION: Grande Prairie, Alberta

SALARY/WAGE: Starting at $24.00/hour, commensurate with experience

JOB SUMMARY:
The Agency is assisting True Medical Imaging in the recruitment of a Medical Office Assistant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule patient appointments in accordance with clinical protocols, physician requirements, and equipment availability.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, emails, and electronic inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain electronic scheduling systems, patient databases, and administrative records.
  • Monitor waitlists and optimize appointment utilization to minimize gaps in scheduling.
  • Greet and assist patients on arrival, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Assist with billing, data entry, reporting, and other administrative functions.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts or operational concerns and communicate them to management promptly.
  • Collect and process payments.
  • Chaperone exams when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certification as a Health Information Office Assistant, Unit Clerk, or Medical Office Assistant.
  • Medical Terminology certification is required.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures is an asset.
  • Preference for Connect Care experience.
  • Experience using patient/diagnostician booking programs is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced customer service or medical office environment.
