Position: Medical Administrative Assistant.

Salary: $35.90 – $37.00 per hour.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Work Location: On-site only.

Shift Schedule: Morning, Day, and Evening Shifts.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Administrative Assistant to join our healthcare team in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily administrative operations, ensuring efficient patient service, maintaining confidential medical records, and assisting healthcare professionals with office coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the flow of information within the medical office.
  • Interview patients to obtain and update medical case histories.
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
  • Train staff on office procedures and the use of current software systems.
  • Maintain and organize filing systems and medical records.
  • Order office and medical supplies and maintain inventory levels.
  • Determine and establish office procedures and administrative routines.
  • Enter, format, and prepare electronic medical reports, correspondence, spreadsheets, and other documents for review.
  • Initiate, maintain, and update confidential medical files and records.
  • Prepare draft agendas for meetings and record, transcribe, and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Perform accurate data entry and administrative support tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality requirements in handling patient information.

Qualifications:
  • Degree, Diploma, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Medical Office Administration or Healthcare Administration education is considered an asset.
  • Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in an administrative or medical office environment.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting will be considered an asset.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office management software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
