Full job description

Employee’s job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Scheduling patients/physician schedules
  • Scheduling staff
  • Scheduling medical tests for patients and referrals to other healthcare providers
  • Ordering/picking up supplies/equipment for medical practice/business
  • Sorting/dropping off mail
  • Scanning reports / referrals / other documents
  • Answering phone and checking patients in/out
  • Checking/responding to voicemail/email correspondence
  • No-show and cancellation patient rebooking
  • Outbox
  • Dealing with Insurance and Lawyer Requests
  • Booking of Referrals for Physicians
  • Chaperoning patient visits when requested
  • Assisting with clinical research activities
  • Organizing the daily/weekly/monthly schedule of healthcare providers
  • Scheduling and attending staff meetings on a weekly basis and at the discretion of the IDE Director
  • Maintaining patient/medical information privacy

Skill / Experience Requirements

1) Good computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

2) Ability to multitask with efficient time management skills

3) Detail oriented

4) Clear, friendly and professional communication skills

5) Must drive and have their own vehicle ! (will need to work at both the Ajax (Rossland Rd/Salem Rd) and Scarborough (Midland Ave/McNicoll Ave) offices. Typically 3 days per week in one location and 2 days per week in the other location

6) Good English proficiency (spoken and written)

7) Proficiency in speaking Tamil is preferred

8) Experience working in a medical office is an asset but not required

9) 3-4 years experience working in reception/admin

Job Details

  • We will be hiring 1-2 individuals for a 3 month term
  • Depending on your performance, and depending on organizational needs, after the 3 month term, the position may become permanent
  • This is mainly a full-time opportunity, but we may consider hiring an individual part-time 3 days per week as well
  • Pay is $17.60 / hour depending on experience
  • Hours are typically 8:30am-4:30pm or 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm
