Job description

We are currently recruiting for a fast-paced and rewarding medical administrative position in Addiction Medicine, with the job title of Clinic Coordinator.

This role is more complicated than that of a typical medical office receptionist. We are seeking that, plus more, in someone who can join our team by effectively serving the medical office needs of patients experiencing substance use problems and addiction. We are seeking a technically competent, multitasking, friendly, and highly responsible Clinic Coordinator to join our growing Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic team. In this role, you will work at a front desk of one of our medical offices to perform duties supporting our clinical team.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Clinic Manager, your key responsibilities would include:

  • Greeting patients, family members, and other visitors to our office (or virtually over the telephone) in a friendly, welcoming, non-judgmental, and compassionate manner
  • Demonstrate a high level of competency in Electrical Medical Records use, including scheduling, data entry, verification of health card details, and document management.
  • Register new patients and update medical records
  • Perform urine drug testing, when necessary (training will be provided)
  • Respond to emails and phone calls from patients, pharmacists, and healthcare providers; transfer calls as necessary
  • Communicate with physicians, pharmacy staff, clinicians, social workers and other support workers to address specific patient needs
  • Facilitate patients in telemedicine/video calls
  • Solve basic to moderate technological matters or problems which may arise on the job, thereby requiring some computer knowledge

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would have:

  • A college degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience working as an administrative assistant or a related role in a medical office setting
  • Experience using EMR software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior experience working in an addiction or mental health-related field
  • Willingness to complete a training course in Opioid Use Disorder treatment
  • Friendly, compassionate, non-judgmental
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task and solve problems
  • Keen attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate problems and form solutions
  • Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records

Compensation: Compensation for the role will be aligned with candidate’s skills and experience.

Application: Interested candidates are invited to attach a cover letter and resume. A cover letter is compulsory.

Please note, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
