Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with healthcare professionals, ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent patient service. Prior experience with electronic medical records and office management systems is highly valued, along with strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors, managing front desk responsibilities with professionalism and courtesy
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently using electronic medical records systems such as Telus CHR
  • Answer multi-line phone systems, direct calls, and handle patient inquiries effectively
  • Verify patient insurance information and update medical records accurately
  • Prepare and maintain patient charts, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth office operations
  • Manage administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence
  • Ensure the office environment remains clean, organized, and welcoming

Skills

  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems such as Telus CHR
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare settings
  • Experience as a Medical receptionist or in a medical office environment is a plus
  • Prior medical office experience preferred, demonstrating familiarity with front desk operations
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy setting
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance companies
  • Ability to operate multi-line phone systems confidently
  • Office experience that includes administrative support and customer service excellence
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in a medical office or clinical setting preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terminology and Ontario healthcare standards.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.

This position is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, personable, and eager to contribute to a professional healthcare environment. Prior experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems like Telus CHR will be considered an asset.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
