Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Orthodontic Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will support orthodontists in providing exceptional patient care, managing clinical procedures, and ensuring smooth office operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment specializing in orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry. The Orthodontic Assistant will play a key role in assisting with patient treatments, maintaining clinical excellence, and fostering positive patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and procedures, including placement and adjustment of braces and appliances
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Take and develop dental radiographs using CAD technology as needed
- Educate patients on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices
- Manage patient records using dental software such as Dentrix and Epic
- Schedule appointments and follow-up visits, acting as a dental receptionist when required
- Maintain infection control protocols and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Support pediatric patients by providing gentle care and clear instructions tailored to children’s needs
- Assist with administrative tasks related to patient intake and insurance documentation
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software including Dentrix, Epic, and CAD systems
- Strong knowledge of orthodontics procedures and terminology
- Experience with dental assisting techniques, including sterilization and radiography
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics
- Knowledge of dental appliances, braces, and orthodontic treatment protocols
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team in a fast-paced environment
This role is integral to delivering high-quality orthodontic care while ensuring a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, technical competence, and a compassionate approach to patient interactions.
Pay: $60.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
