  • Andrology Responsibilities (post-training, competency-validated)
  • Receives and processes semen specimens; performs semen analysis (concentration, motility, morphology, viability) per WHO guidelines.
  • Prepares sperm samples for IUI and ART procedures.
  • Performs semen cryopreservation and thaw.
  • Maintains accurate, real-time documentation and QC records.
  • Communicates abnormal findings to senior staff; participates in proficiency testing.

Role scope may evolve as the clinic grows.

Quality & Regulatory Compliance

  • Strict SOP adherence and accurate documentation.
  • Compliance with biosafety, infection control, and privacy legislation (PIPEDA/provincial requirements).
  • Supports inspection and accreditation readiness.

Performance Milestones

  • Initial 3–6 month evaluation per clinic HR policy.
  • Progression to independent andrology practice contingent on Laboratory Director sign-off.

Qualifications

Required

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic to intermediate computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, internet/email systems).
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a clinical, research, or IVF laboratory setting.
  • Experience in andrology or reproductive medicine.
  • Familiarity with laboratory quality management systems.
