Medical Office Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator

Shephard Health – Calgary, AB

Shephard Health is a busy, well-established chiropractic and soft tissue injury clinic in Calgary. We are looking for an experienced, outgoing and personable Medical Office Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and takes pride in providing an exceptional patient experience.

The Position

We are looking for someone who is organized, energetic, professional and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinic environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming experience for our patients while keeping the front office running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients and providing exceptional customer service
  • Answering phones and responding to patient inquiries
  • Scheduling, confirming and rebooking appointments
  • Managing busy practitioner schedules
  • Processing payments and maintaining accurate patient accounts
  • Insurance billing and reconciliation
  • WCB and Motor Vehicle Accident claim administration
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Communicating with patients regarding appointments and treatment
  • Coordinating with chiropractors, massage therapists and other clinic team members
  • Assisting with day-to-day front-office administration
  • Maintaining a clean, professional and welcoming reception area
  • Participating in staff meetings and contributing to a positive team environment

What We’re Looking For

Our ideal candidate is:

  • Experienced in a chiropractic, medical, dental or similar healthcare office
  • Extremely personable and outgoing
  • An excellent communicator
  • Professional, friendly and confident on the telephone
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Able to multitask in a busy environment
  • Comfortable dealing with patients and insurance companies
  • A strong team player
  • Dependable and motivated
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys helping people

Previous experience with chiropractic billing, WCB and Motor Vehicle Accident claims is a strong asset.

Hours

30–35 hours per week

Some Saturday morning availability will be required.

Compensation

$22–$26 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
