Medical Clinical Assistant – Dermatology Clinic

A busy dermatology clinic is seeking a motivated individual with a friendly demeanor who can learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment to join our team as a Medical Clinical Assistant. While prior experience is valued, we are particularly interested in candidates who communicate professionally and clearly, proactively address issues, and are eager to grow with the practice.

Position Start Date

  • Immediate start available

Hours

  • Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Longer shifts may occasionally be required

Qualifications

Education:

  • International Medical Graduates based in Ontario are encouraged to apply
  • Previous clinical assistant experience and/or experience in a Canadian healthcare setting is considered an asset

Experience:

  • Minimum one year of hands-on clinical patient care experience is preferred

Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of medical office procedures and medical terminology

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Experience with Accuro EMR is an asset, or willingness to learn new systems quickly

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong interest in dermatology and willingness to learn quickly
  • Comfortable with technology and able to troubleshoot minor IT issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Eager to learn and grow within the clinic
  • Interest in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology

Job Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient medical histories and assist with physical examinations
  • Complete and submit diagnostic requisitions (labs, imaging, ultrasounds, etc.) accurately through appropriate channels
  • Assist physicians with treatment plans and diagnoses
  • Educate and counsel patients on medical and cosmetic concerns
  • Assist during dermatological procedures
  • Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team
  • Respond to and manage patient messages
  • Send referrals and coordinate follow-up care
  • Assist physicians with documentation, notes, billing, and paperwork
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phones and scheduling appointments
  • Clean rooms between patients
  • Ensure examination rooms are properly stocked with supplies
  • Assist with cosmetic procedures (e.g., lasers, injections, cosmetic removals) under medical supervision
  • Educate patients about cosmetic services offered by the clinic
  • Provide patients with quotes for cosmetic procedures
  • Support clinic operations with additional duties as needed

Compensation

  • Starting at $20–$25 per hour
