Medical Office Administrator

PACE CARDIOLOGY NEWMARKET

Job description

The Medical Office Administrator will be involved in a wide range of tasks including administrative, front office and clinical. The Medical Office Administrator are also entitled to provide assistance to the doctor, nurses and technologists, while performing general check ups and giving necessary information to visitors and patients, regarding the operational procedures of the clinic.

Requirements:

- Graduate with a Medical Office Administrator diploma/certificate
- Medical office experience necessary
- Medical terminology required
- Valid driver’s license and willing to travel to other locations as needed
- Registration, filing and maintenance of medical records and documents
- Using an EMR system and booking patients into our clinics
- Explaining procedures to the patients and visitors
- Assist physicians with patients as needed
- Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone, fax and customer service needs
- Ability to prioritize and accommodate urgent requests
- Excellent communication (oral, written, telephone) and interpersonal skills with a well-developed customer service focus; dealing effectively with patients, physicians, and the community
- Proven ability to work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and independently within a fast paced clinic
- Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public
- Ensure that equipment is well kept and in good working order
- Punctual and a committed individual
- Meet tight deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Computer literacy is necessary; know of spread sheet/word/Microsoft software
- Multi-tasking
- Able to handle repetitive tasks
- Current BCLS
