Full job description

Thornlea Medical Centre (TMC) is seeking a full-time Medical Office receptionist to join our team. TMC is a family practice medical office that also provides urgent care to our patients located in Toronto - East York (Don Mills Rd and Overlea Blvd).

The ideal candidate is professional, organized, people-oriented, and empathetic toward patients’ needs, while also efficiently supporting physicians and clinic operations.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and visitors in a warm, professional, and courteous manner
  • Register patients and ensure demographic and health card information is current and accurate
  • Answer phone calls promptly, schedule appointments, and respond to patient inquiries
  • Manage appointment bookings and patient flow efficiently
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
  • Perform administrative and record-keeping duties
  • Order and maintain office and medical supplies inventory
  • Handle specimens and prepare them for laboratory pick-up
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
  • Support physicians and clinic staff with administrative tasks as needed
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is a must.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with TELUS PS Suite EMR strongly required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused attitude
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset

- 2+ years of working experience in a similar environment ( Medical Office )

-2+ years of TELUS PSS suite EMR

- Graduate of a Medical Office Assistant program

- Provide optimal customer service to patients with a positive and friendly attitude

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR): 2 years (required)
  • Medical Office Receptionst: 2 years (required)

Language:

  • URDU , PESHTO , TURKISH , PERSION (preferred)

Location:

  • East York, ON M4H 1C4 (preferred)

Work Location: In person
