As a Medical Office Assistant you will provide excellent client care by assisting the medical and professional staff in managing client activity. You will develop strong relationships with other health care providers in the community including general practitioners and specialists. To this end, you will work together with support staff, in various physician and health care provider’s offices, to build one-on-one relationships that will facilitate ongoing communications and cross-referrals.


What you’ll do:


  • Scheduling appointments and arranging for specialist consultations
  • Preparing clients for tests and examinations
  • Updating medical records
  • Contacting clients to remind them of required tests, examinations and follow up consultations
  • Participating in the company’s health plan programs
  • Connecting with clients, supporting continuity of care
  • Provide support for general office administrative functions including medical records management

Qualifications


What you bring:


  • Minimum of 3-5 years of healthcare experience and medical terminology required
  • Medical Office Assistant Certification preferred
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience (would be an asset)
  • Good knowledge of Word, although more extensive computer knowledge is and asset as well as 45 words per minute typing speed
  • Exceptional organizational and customer service skills
  • A team player capable of interacting professionally with staff and physicians with a positive attitude
  • Ability to handle and communicate effectively with challenging clients
