Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Administrator to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice, providing administrative support, managing patient records, and coordinating with clinical staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical or dental office settings, proficiency with electronic health records, and strong knowledge of medical terminology. Experience with Dentrix and supervising staff is a plus. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment that values professionalism, efficiency, and excellent patient service.

Duties

  • Manage patient scheduling, check-in, and check-out processes efficiently
  • Maintain and update electronic medical records using systems such as Dentrix
  • Assist with billing, coding, and insurance claims processing
  • Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and external partners
  • Oversee administrative operations including supply inventory and office organization
  • Supervise administrative staff and provide training as needed
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards
  • Support human resources functions including onboarding new staff and maintaining personnel records
  • Handle billing inquiries, patient follow-ups, and appointment reminders
  • Assist clinical staff with administrative tasks related to patient care and documentation

Experience

  • Prior experience in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with Dentrix or similar electronic medical records systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, billing procedures, and insurance processes
  • Experience in supervising or managing administrative staff is advantageous
  • Background in human resources management within healthcare settings is desirable
  • Hospital or acute care experience can be beneficial for understanding complex healthcare workflows
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients and healthcare providers
