Overview
Seeking a dedicated and organized full-time Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical and/or surgical office settings, with a strong understanding of electronic medical records and administrative procedures.
Job Details
- The candidate would be joining a busy surgical practice in downtown Kamloops and Royal Inland Hospital
- Downtown location
- Shared reception space with one other physician and their MOA
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming environment
- This role involves managing front desk operations and assisting with patient flow (e.g. registering patients upon arrival and guiding them to the exam room)
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately. Additionally, answering telephone, office email, faxes and messages from doctors
- Ensuring exam rooms are kept stocked, clean and neat
- Transcription
- Ordering supplies as needed
- Other duties as required
Necessary Attributes
- Reliable
- Friendly, polite and professional manner towards both patients and colleagues
- Detail oriented and organized
- Energetic and hardworking
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Minimum Experience
- Formal MOA training certification
- Understanding of EMR (preferably QHR - Accuro)
- English proficiency (both verbal and written)
Wages will be commensurate with experience.
Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
