Office Manager/Medical Office Assistant (MOA)
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized professional to manage our front
office operations while providing Medical Office Assistant support in a busy, patient-
focused clinic.
This is a full time (37.5 hours), in person position, Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4 pm. The
position is immediately available for the right candidate.
Who We Are: Hager Orthopaedic Clinics Ltd. is a Prosthetic and Orthotic paramedical
facility with a proud 40-year history of improving our patients’ mobility and quality of life.
Based in Central Kelowna, with a satellite location in the West Kootenays, Hager
provides specialized treatment and custom prosthetic and orthotic devices to patients
coming from throughout the BC Interior. Our office functions like a typical medical clinic
with several clinical rooms as well as a full, on-site, fabrication laboratory. We are a
small but fun-loving team of passionate clinicians and technologists dedicated to
exceptional care of our diverse group of patients.

Who You Are: If your friends describe you with words like “Competent”, “Energetic”,

Our ideal candidate will:
- hold a Medical Office Assistant Certificate, Business Administration diploma/degree or
other related post-secondary education (or comparable work experience)
- have 5+ years experience in a health care, medical or similar clinic environment
- embody a high degree of professionalism, tact and empathy
- demonstrate excellent communication skills
- pick up new things quickly
- demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office, medical software and other office
technology applications
- experience with bookkeeping and/or working with third party insurance, WorkSafe BC,
or PharmaCare payors would be considered a strong asset
Job Responsibilities include:

- Schedule appointments and respond to patient inquiries
- Welcome and assist patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner
- Prepare and maintain patient files before and after appointments
Prepare and submit purchase orders to suppliers
- Manage Accounts Payable and track clinic expenses
- Submit estimates and pre-authorizations to third-party payors
- Process invoices, payments and Accounts Receivable
- Perform light bookkeeping and administrative reporting
- Support day-to-day office operations and workflow coordination
Compensation:
The salary is negotiable for the right candidate, commensurate with your education and
experience.
