As our clinic continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Office Manager/ Practice Manager to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building efficient systems, leading people, solving problems, and helping a business thrive.

This role goes far beyond administration. You'll work closely with the owner to oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinic, support our team, improve workflows, and help shape the future of our practice.

What You'll Do

As our Office Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinic while helping our team, systems, and business continue to grow.

Leadership & Human Resources

  • Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and employee development.
  • Foster a positive, accountable workplace culture through coaching, performance management, and team engagement.
  • Coordinate staff meetings, continuing education, and HR administration.

Operations & Business Management

  • Oversee daily clinic operations and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, communication, and workflow.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate projects, contractors, vendors, and facility maintenance.
  • Provide support to reception and client care during busy periods when needed.

Finance & Administration

  • Process payroll, scheduling, bookkeeping support, bank and payment reconciliations, and assist with budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Communicate regularly with our accountant, bookkeeper, suppliers, and other business partners.

Marketing, Technology & Growth

  • Help coordinate marketing initiatives, social media, website updates, and community outreach.
  • Support practice management software, technology, and operational improvements.
  • Take ownership of special projects that improve the clinic, team, and client experience.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC, employment standards, and veterinary regulatory requirements while maintaining a safe and organized workplace.

What We're Looking For

  • 2–4+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with hiring, payroll, scheduling, HR, and business administration.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and leading projects independently.
  • Veterinary or healthcare experience is an asset, but not required.

If you're an organized, proactive leader who enjoys building great teams, improving systems, and making a meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and a cover letter telling us about yourself, your leadership experience, and why you'd be a great fit for the Silver Star Animal Care Clinic team.
