Full job description

Oakville Obstetrics & Gynecology in Oakville, ON is looking to hire a positive and motivated Medical Office Administrator to provide administrative support for their expanding office practice. This full-time position includes 40 hours per week and two weeks of paid vacation per year. The start date for the successful applicant is negotiable.

Duties:

  • General office administration, including receiving and processing incoming documents, maintaining and updating patient records, liaising with outside medical facilities, and other relevant tasks
  • Managing all patient interactions, including in person visits, phone calls, and appointment scheduling/re-scheduling
  • Recording patient weight and vital signs
  • Preparing patient charts for appointments
  • Ensuring exam rooms are prepared and stocked
  • Monitoring and order office and medical supplies as required
  • Sterilizing medical equipment using an autoclave
  • Processing patient accounts receivable and payable (credit card, debit, and cash payments), as required

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Medical Office Administration certificate preferred, however candidates with at least 3 years of physician office experience will also be considered
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Professionalism, tact, and good judgement when dealing with patients and other health professionals
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team

Assets:

  • Previous experience in an outpatient or hospital setting
  • Experience with sterilization of medical equipment
  • Proficiency with Accuro or other electronic medical record / patient scheduling software
