Are you an experienced optometry professional ready to take the next step into clinic leadership? We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a large, multi-doctor optometry clinic.

Please note: Previous optometry clinic experience is strongly preferred for this position.

This is a specialized healthcare leadership role and is best suited to someone who understands the operations, patient flow, and unique demands of an optometric practice.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will oversee multiple departments and team leads while ensuring the clinic operates efficiently, maintains high standards of patient care, and continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations across administration, patient care, optical, and lab/technical departments.
  • Coach and support 3+ Team Leads while maintaining accountability and performance standards.
  • Manage staff scheduling, payroll approvals, vacation requests, and clinic coverage.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Monitor clinic KPIs, operational performance, expenses, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee inventory, vendor relationships, pricing, recalls, credits, and rebates.
  • Assist with accounts receivable and communicate with the bookkeeper regarding payroll and invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with PHIPA, Ontario College of Optometrists standards, and health and safety requirements.
  • Handle escalated patient concerns professionally and compassionately.
  • Support EMR systems, technology, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with clinic leadership on business growth and operational initiatives.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of experience in an optometry clinic, healthcare management, or medical practice management.
  • Strong leadership and people-management experience.
  • Experience with staff scheduling, payroll, budgeting, and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of healthcare privacy, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with EMR/practice management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to lead a busy, multi-department healthcare environment.
