Full job description

Our personal injury law firm in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is seeking an experienced Plaintiff Personal Injury Law Clerk to join our team. This is a fully remote, work-from-home position for a confident, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct client intakes, including gathering case details and opening new files
  • Draft and prepare legal correspondence
  • Draft LAT applications and assist throughout the LAT process
  • Draft AODs
  • Prepare Affidavits of Documents and satisfy production requests and undertakings
  • Draft, prepare, and schedule Motions, including preparing motion records
  • Prepare notices and pleadings in Superior Court
  • File Trial Records
  • Correspond with insurers and opposing law firms
  • Requisition medical assessments
  • Manage the lawyer’s calendar, including booking discoveries, mediations, and client meetings
  • Maintain and manage files, and communicate directly with clients

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Law Clerk program (required)
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience handling plaintiff personal injury Accident Benefit and Tort matters (required)
  • Advanced familiarity with the Rules of Civil Procedure and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule
  • Demonstrated advanced writing skills for preparing legal correspondence and completing forms
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Sound judgment and a positive, friendly demeanor when dealing with clients
  • Confident and dependable, with strong initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • A positive attitude toward learning, professional development, and taking on new responsibilities
