Job Description

Qualifications – Northern Ontario Healthcare Facility

  • Must be registered with the CMLTO
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant MLT experience required
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: 3 months + extension
  • Travel: Provided
  • Accommodation: Provided
  • Overtime: Applicable after 37.5 hours/week

Responsibilities

Medical Laboratory Technologists are required to adhere to the scope of practice as defined by the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting laboratory tests and analyzing specimens
  • Ensuring accuracy and quality control of all test results
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Recording and reporting results in a timely manner
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to support patient care
  • Maintaining compliance with all laboratory safety and regulatory standards

Note: Duties may vary slightly based on facility needs and shift requirements, with specific orientation provided on-site.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Canadian healthcare experience required
  • Familiarity with hospital laboratory systems is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume settings

Skills

  • Strong analytical and technical laboratory skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of accuracy and compliance with safety protocols
