Job Overview
MSALABS is an experienced global provider of geochemical laboratory services to the exploration and mining industries in Canada, the USA and around the world. We have a rapidly growing network of laboratories in key mining regions around the world to limit lead times and transit costs and we employ the latest hi-tech analysis equipment.

Duties:

  • Carry out spectroscopy procedures in accordance with documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or recognized standard reference methods. Instrumentation may include C/S Analyzer.
  • Help perform general laboratory tasks including, but not limited to: finding samples, transferring solutions, and solutions disposal.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of department workstations and equipment.
  • Neutralize laboratory waste and dispose of waste in accordance with the local waste disposal regulations.
  • Inform the spectroscopy manager of any unsafe conditions within the department.
  • Maintain up-to-date logs of relevant documentation.
  • Verify and record calibration of equipment as needed.
  • Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire, and PPE as required.
  • Ensure proper functioning of the laboratory by:
  • Ensuring adequate inventory of laboratory consumable supplies and chemicals.
  • Practicing good housekeeping.
  • Communicate general laboratory issues to spectroscopy manager as appropriate.
  • Some lifting is required, up to 50lbs.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.

Requirements:

  • High school grad or equivalent
  • Up to 3 years lab experience
  • Attention to detail and able to follow complicated instructions carefully
  • Able to work in both a team and in an individual capacity
  • Organized, able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
