Full job description

Temporary Full-Time Medical Laboratory Technologist (18+ months)

Position Summary:
Responsible for the efficient performance of the technical procedures performed within the Laboratory, and the accurate examination and processing of clinical specimens to provide timely information to direct caregivers.

Qualifications:

  • Three year College diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Pass the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science certification exam
  • Current general registration, in good standing, hematology, biochemistry, phlebotomy and transfusion science with the College of Medical Laboratory
  • Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) is required.
  • A valid Ontario Driver’s License and own transportation
  • French Language Service Designation: Bilingualism, English and French, is required. In accordance with the French Language Services Plan, if no bilingual candidates (both internal and external) meet the qualifications, unilingual candidates may be considered.

Hours of Work

  • 75 hours bi-weekly, M-F daytime hours, and must participate in regular on-call for after hours and weekend rotations.
