This position requires strong dental laboratory knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead technicians while maintaining an efficient production workflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform final quality control inspections of dental restorations before delivery.
  • Review crowns, bridges, implant restorations, dentures, full-arch cases, printed models, and other laboratory products.
  • Verify margins, contacts, occlusion, fit, shade, anatomy, esthetics, and case specifications.
  • Confirm that prescriptions, digital files, photographs, and doctor instructions have been followed.
  • Identify technical or production issues and return cases to the appropriate department for correction.
  • Work closely with department supervisors, CAD designers, ceramists, technicians, and customer service staff.
  • Establish and maintain clear quality-control standards and inspection procedures.
  • Document recurring errors and help implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and technical guidance to laboratory team members.
  • Monitor remakes, adjustments, complaints, and internal quality trends.
  • Assist with technician training and calibration to ensure consistent quality across departments.
  • Prioritize urgent and time-sensitive cases without compromising quality.
  • Support management in improving production efficiency, accountability, and overall laboratory standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of dental laboratory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of fixed, removable, implant, and digital dental laboratory workflows.
  • Previous supervisory, quality-control, or senior technician experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of dental anatomy, occlusion, margins, contacts, fit, shade, and esthetics.
  • Experience reviewing complex implant and full-arch restorations is an asset.
  • Familiarity with digital dentistry, CAD/CAM, 3D printing, and dental laboratory management systems.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate corrections clearly, professionally, and respectfully.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production laboratory with strict deadlines.
  • High level of accountability and attention to detail.

The Ideal Candidate

They are confident identifying technical problems, comfortable making difficult quality decisions, and capable of holding team members accountable while maintaining a professional and respectful working environment.

This person must understand that quality control is not only about identifying mistakes—it is also about preventing recurring problems, improving technicians, and helping the laboratory deliver reliable results to its clients.
