Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Staff member to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications within a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and have experience as a pharmacy technician, contributing to the overall health and well-being of our patients.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Operating in a fast-paced healthcare patient-centric environment.
  • Patient greeting and confirmation of the accuracy of all pertinent prescription information prior to filling.
  • Filling Rx's, data entry of patient information, scanning, blister pack filling, delivery management, receiving, expiry checking, restocking.
  • Third-Party adjudication where required and necessary.
  • Accurate dispensing of prescription medications.
  • Maintenance of pharmacy stock through inventory control systems.
  • Handling customer prescription pick up.
  • Assisting with cashier responsibilities as required in the Pharmacy.
  • OTC enquiries from patients and referrals to Pharmacists where required and necessary.

What you'll need

  • Experience in academic lab work settings
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation.
  • Very strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Very strong motivation for patient journey and success.
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence.
  • Proficient computer/data/entry skills.
  • Knowledge of NAPRA regulations is an asset.
  • Fillware experience is an asset.
  • Accepted applicants will be hired immediately.
  • Completion of a recognized compounding course from PCCA, Medisca or equivalent, and the ability to compound capsules, suspensions, creams, suppositories, troches, tablets etc., will have priority.

Pay: $17.60-$25.00 per hour
