Medical Office Assistant Job Description

Job Title: Medical Office Assistant to Dr. Edmund Paulus- Urologist

Job Type: Full-time

Remuneration Parking is included.

Duties:

· Coordinates patient care through the clinic –preparing the day’s charts, patient check-in, escorting to exam rooms, and preparing exam rooms for the next patient.

· Maintains appointment schedule and manages recalls.

· Schedules OR Booking and out-patient clinic slates.

· Lab and medical imaging coordination.

· Answers inquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, respectful, and efficient manner.

· Maintains electronic medical record (Plexia), including the patient chart, scanning into Plexia EMR, Proficient in Plexia EMR, other ad hoc duties required.

· Ensures exam rooms are stocked appropriately and ensures that they are ready for next patient.

· Ensures patient confidentiality.

· Monday to Friday, 9AM to 5PM

General Skills and Abilities:

· Minimum 5 years experience . Preference will be given to candidates with +5 years previous MOA experience (or relevant combination of experience and education) with Plexia EMR. Preference will be given to those with previous Plexia experience.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a specialist's office.

· Proficiency with a computer including electronic medical records and data entry.

· Typing speed: 55 WPM

· Medical Terminology. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed the MOA certification course.

· Must be a quick learner and self-starter.

· Must be able to work independently

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00-$29.00 per hour
