About the Position:

We are hiring multiple General Labourers to work in our Sample Preparation Facility. Our Sample Preparation Facility uses specialized machinery to crush mining samples into material that is ready for testing in our laboratories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retrieving and staging boxes on carts for weighers

  • Returning and scanning boxes into storage after weighing

  • Supporting weighing tasks as required

  • Ringing, sieving (including international soils), crushing, and splitting under direct supervision

  • Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision

  • Maintaining production logs

  • Performing general cleaning duties to maintain lab cleanliness

  • Assisting with layout duties and tasks as needed

  • Using correct methods in accordance with established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality

  • Following established safety regulations and complying with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures

  • Performing other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Good hand-eye coordination

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Basic alphanumeric comprehension

  • Basic English communication skills (written and verbal)

Required Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 diploma preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Wear full body PPE

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 7.5 hours per day

  • Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks

  • An estimated hourly pay ranging from $21.48 - $22.27 at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
