Full job description

Cory Ramstead MD is seeking a motivated, professional Ophthalmic Assistant / Technician to join our established ophthalmology practice. This role is ideal for someone interested in healthcare, patient care, and long-term career development in ophthalmology.

No prior ophthalmic experience is required. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training and will pay for formal ophthalmic assistant schooling for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic, pre-operative, and post-operative ophthalmic testing
  • Document ocular and medical histories accurately in the EMR
  • Assist with surgical booking and coordination
  • Support office-based ophthalmic procedures
  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care
  • Work collaboratively within a busy clinical team

Qualifications

  • Clinical experience and/or certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician is an asset
  • New graduates and candidates without experience are encouraged to apply
  • Must be willing to complete ophthalmic assistant training (funded by employer if not already certified)
