Job Overview

Duties

  • Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and drying machines following strict protocols.
  • Prepare surgical instruments and medical devices for sterilization by cleaning, inspecting, and packaging them appropriately.
  • Monitor sterilization cycles to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, including cycle logs and equipment maintenance reports.
  • Conduct routine quality checks on sterilized instruments to verify cleanliness and sterility.
  • Follow all infection control guidelines, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements related to sterilization practices.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for scheduled procedures.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and sterilization procedures is essential.
  • Prior experience working in a healthcare environment or sterile processing department is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
