In this hospital-based position, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support safe, effective medication use. Responsibilities include identifying and resolving medication-related issues, contributing to care plans, participating in patient rounds, and working with healthcare teams and families to optimize therapy. You will also review and verify medication orders and may check patient medications.

Additional duties include mentoring staff, precepting students, and supporting Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians. You will be experienced in computerized order entry and drug information systems, demonstrating strong critical thinking, time management, and strong communication skills, while thriving in a team environment. A patient-centered approach, professionalism, and confidentiality are paramount in this position. Description:

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Current, provisional or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacist.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Entry-to-practice degree (Bachelor of Science or PharmD) in Pharmacy. To ensure your skills and qualifications are considered, please attach a resume and cover letter with your application.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited hospital residency and/or Pharm D program. Additional Prescribing Authorization at time of hire or within the 1st year of employment, and to administer injections. Experience within a specific clinical area, precepting students, membership in a professional hospital pharmacy organization, and participation in projects, research or committee work is an asset. At least 1 year of recent experience in hospital pharmacy setting within the last 2 years.
