Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled C++ Software Developer to join our engineering team in Burnaby, BC. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will design and build user-facing software for our state-of-the-art imaging sensors, including radars and sonars. Working with a small, dynamic team of expert engineers and researchers, you will help determine application concepts and requirements and develop reliable software components for accepting user controls, communicating with sensors, and displaying imagery and other data. This position calls for strong C++ fundamentals, solid networking knowledge, and a creative, high-impact approach to solving complex problems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop user-facing software for state-of-the-art imaging sensors, including radars and sonars.
  • Work with a small, dynamic team of expert engineers and researchers to determine application concepts and requirements.
  • Design reliable software components for accepting user controls, communicating with sensors, and displaying imagery and other data.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, with the ability to obtain a Canadian security clearance. (Work permits are not eligible for this role.)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • Proficiency in C++ programming.
  • Working knowledge of Python and C.
  • Proficient knowledge of networking (building communication protocols on top of TCP / UDP).
  • Clear written communication skills.
  • Available for in-person work at our Burnaby office (hybrid schedule, minimum 3 days per week in person).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with C programming in a Linux environment.
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing (Fourier analysis, filtering, efficient implementation of DSP algorithms in C/C++).
  • Knowledge of radar systems and the analysis of radar data.
  • Experience working with georeferenced sensor data (coordinate transformations, mapping/GIS, display and analysis of geospatial information).
  • Experience developing user interface software using libraries such as Qt.
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (SQLite).

Remuneration

$95,000 – $120,000 CAD base salary. aiRadar considers various factors when determining total compensation, including job-specific specialized knowledge, skills, and proficiency.

Position Time Type

This is a full-time position. Working mode will be hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week in person at our Burnaby office.
