    • Billing or progress-billing experience.
    • Communicate with internal staff to obtain missing or unclear information.
    • This is a full time position from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
    • Accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable experience is an asset.
    • Organize medical files for patient referral (labs, imaging, etc.).
    • Minimum 2 years experience preferred as part of a medical team.
    • High School Diploma supplemented by an accounting certificate or diploma.
    • Knowledge of CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds or PBS software.
    • This person needs to have superior customer service skills and exceptional organization.
    • Answer and direct phone calls politely and professionally.

Wanted: Full-Time Medical Office Assistant for a busy, fast-paced, community-based Specialist Medical Clinic

We are in search of a friendly, professional, and capable Medical Office Assistant for a full-time position at a very busy Medical Specialist Office with experience in Referral Coordination.

The chosen candidate will be outgoing, friendly, a fast-learner, adaptable, a team player, and very professional. Experience working in a surgeon's office for surgeons is considered an asset.

Please be advised, this is a very fast-paced, busy job, with varying responsibilities day to day. If this is not something you are looking for, this job may not be for you.

- Exceptional telephone and email skills, as your main duty will be correspondence with patients

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Working as an assistant to 2-3 Specialist Physicians

- Greet and receive patients

- Answer phones and direct calls

- Patient correspondence between MOA and doctors, sending and receiving patient documents

- Use of an Electronic Medical Records system (preferably Accuro)

- Schedule appointments

- Manage Doctor’s waitlist and schedule

- Facilitate outgoing referrals

- Book outside appointments for patients (imaging etc.) as requested by the doctor.

- Sort and distribute incoming electronic faxes

- Create and edit patient charts

- Assist physicians with various tasks

- Send, receive, and distribute mail

- Weekly laundry

- Restocking exam rooms

- Monthly inventory

- Ensure waiting room is tidy

- Monitor e-mail
