About us

An exciting opportunity to join a thriving family practice in the centre of London.

The clinician assistant will work closely with the family physician as well as other AHPs in the family health team, providing care and doing procedures as required, including pap smears, injections, well-baby checks, chronic disease management, acute management, and prescriptions.

Experience: Two years of recent clinical practice required. Exceptions may be made for the right candidate.

CPR and ACLS certification required

The assistant will provide quality patient-focused care to patients in the family physician clinic.

Accountabilities:

  • Conducting patient interviews and taking medical histories
  • Performing physical examinations and interpreting findings
  • Organizing laboratory and diagnostic investigations
  • Performing certain controlled acts under medical directives delegated to you by a physician.
  • Counselling patients on preventive health care
  • Complete virtual (telephone) consult as needed
  • Under the supervision, order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, x-rays, ultrasounds, etc.)
  • Under supervision, provide treatment plans and diagnosis under the supervision
  • Under supervision, educate and counsel patients
  • Collaborate with the physician to ensure the quality of patient care

Qualifications

  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • International Medical Graduate with extensive Clinical Assistant or independent practice experience (LMCC Part I)
  • EMR experience
  • Organizing patient follow-up
  • Performing other duties within and outside your competencies as a physician assistant
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and with respect in both a verbal and written format with patients, public, colleagues and other health disciplines
  • Demonstrated competency to perform complete and appropriate clinical assessment and development of a treatment plan in accordance with medical directives
  • Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative medical model of care with all members of the health care team
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • London, ON N6A 2C2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
