Full job description

Reporting to the Director of Health & Wellness the Unregulated Care Provider will:

  • adhere to the plan of care as determined by the Director of Health & Wellness
  • Facilitate residents' move in and transfers
  • Observe and report on residents service
  • Assist the resident with personal care
  • Observe and report on changes in residents
  • Escalate medical emergencies to supervisor or emergency medical services
  • Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transferring and adaptive aids
  • Demonstrate understanding of resident needs and maximize abilities
  • Provide cognitive, social, emotional and psychological support to the resident
  • Maintain resident confidentiality
  • Respond to resident concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment
  • medication administration

Required Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of Personal Support Worker program
  • Experience working with seniors in the community health services setting
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
  • Lifting and transferring skills
  • Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening
