Position Description

The Senior Project Manager, FF&E leads the planning, coordination, procurement and implementation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) for complex redevelopment initiatives within the Project Horizon program at SickKids.

Project scopes may include multi-million dollar FF&E procurement packages supporting large hospital redevelopment initiatives.

Working under the direction of the Senior Manager, FF&E, the role provides senior-level project leadership to ensure equipment and furniture requirements are effectively integrated into design development, infrastructure planning, procurement strategies, construction sequencing, and operational readiness activities.

The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the leadership and successful delivery of complex FF&E project scopes, including initiatives involving significant budgets, technical infrastructure requirements, and multidisciplinary stakeholder coordination.

You will work closely with clinical leaders, consultants, contractors, Strategic Sourcing teams and operational partners to ensure FF&E planning supports the safe and effective activation of new clinical and operational environments across Project Horizon.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to one of the most significant pediatric hospital redevelopment initiatives in Canada.

Here's what you'll get to do

The Senior Project Manager, FF&E core responsibilities include:

  • Support the development and implementation of equipment and furniture standardization strategies across Project Horizon initiatives where appropriate.
  • Develop procurement strategies and lead the preparation of specifications, tender documentation and vendor evaluations in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain teams.
  • Manage FF&E budgets and procurement activities for assigned project scopes including forecasting, cost tracking and financial risk identification.
  • Coordinate FF&E planning activities with construction schedules, infrastructure readiness and operational activation timelines.
  • Identify and manage risks related to equipment planning, procurement and infrastructure readiness.
  • Provide functional leadership and coordination to project managers, consultants and subject matter experts supporting FF&E planning across assigned projects.
  • Work collaboratively with members of the FF&E team to coordinate project delivery, share knowledge, and support consistent FF&E planning practices across multiple projects.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader Project Horizon team including Delivery Project Managers, Clinical Reinvention Team and Project Control and Integration across Project Horizon initiatives.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal partners including Medical Engineering, Facilities Operations, Information Technology and clinical programs.
  • Participate in project committees, planning meetings and working groups related to FF&E planning and hospital redevelopment initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations related to FF&E planning progress, risks and budget performance.
  • Support the development, implementation and maintenance of an FF&E asset management system and associated policies and procedures.

Here's what you'll need

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in healthcare capital redevelopment, facilities planning, equipment planning or major capital project management, preferably within complex hospital or healthcare environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading FF&E planning for complex healthcare redevelopment projects.
  • Experience managing large FF&E procurement packages and capital equipment budgets.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams including clinicians, consultants and construction partners.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare infrastructure requirements for clinical equipment and furniture.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Strong project management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives.
