Job Summary
We are seeking a professional with at least 5 years of experience as a front desk receptionist and Front Desk Coordinator to join our dental practice. This position will begin July 20 will be for 1 month or more (to be discussed). The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front office operations with efficiency and a friendly demeanor. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental and medical office procedures, and proficiency in various office software systems. The Front Desk Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations, patient satisfaction, and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming environment.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately.
  • Verify patient information and update electronic medical records using systems such as Abeldent and Dexis.
  • Provide information to patients regarding different dental insurance coverage including CDCP
  • Handle check-in and check-out procedures efficiently, including collecting payments and scheduling follow-up visits.
  • Maintain organized patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and managing correspondence.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day.
  • Answer questions regarding dental procedures or insurance coverage professionally and accurately.
  • Support office operations by managing supply inventory and maintaining a clean reception area.

Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Dental Receptionist required.
  • 5+ years of experience with dental insurance and coordination of benefits
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Abeldent and Dexis.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology relevant to dental and healthcare environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently under pressure.
  • Familiarity with office software including Microsoft Office Suite or similar programs.
  • Experience handling administrative tasks such as scheduling, billing, and record management.
  • Knowledge of dental office workflows and procedures is required. This position offers an engaging work environment where organizational skills and customer service excellence are highly valued. The successful candidate will be integral to providing exceptional patient care while maintaining efficient front desk operations.
