Job Overview

Field Service Technician

Area 52 (a Fortifi company) — Moncton, NB Full-time

About Area 52

Area 52 manufactures and services equipment for our customers — parts, preventive maintenance, and on-site repairs across the region. Our field service team is the face of that work: the people customers call when a machine goes down, and the people who make sure it doesn't happen again.

The Role

We're looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team, based out of Moncton with regular travel to customer sites across the region. You'll diagnose and repair industrial equipment on-site, work from scheduled preventive maintenance checklists, and be the hands-on point of contact when something needs fixing — sometimes on a planned visit, sometimes on short notice.

This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, working independently at a customer's facility, and staying overnight when a job requires it.

What You'll Do

· Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on customer equipment, both on-site and remotely

· Complete scheduled preventive maintenance visits, working through machine-specific checklists

· Travel to customer sites across the region, including overnight trips as jobs require

· Track parts used and hours worked for every job, and keep customers informed of what was done and what's needed next

· Identify parts or repairs a customer will need going forward and flag them to the office

· Represent Area 52 professionally in every customer interaction — you're often the only person from our company a customer sees

What You'll Need

· Solid working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems

· 1–3 years of relevant hands-on experience (industrial equipment, machinery repair, or a related trade)

· A valid driver's license and a clean driving record

· Willingness and ability to travel overnight for service calls

· Comfortable working independently, managing your own time on the road

· Strong communication skills — you'll be explaining technical issues to both dispatch and customers. Strong English language written and spoken.

Nice to Have

· Coursework in Engineering Technology or a related program (a diploma or degree is not required — we care more about what you can do than what's on paper)

· Prior experience in field service, industrial maintenance, or a similar customer-facing technical role

· French language in addition to English preferred

· Experience in food processing facilities and their standards

What We Offer

· On-the-job training and support from an experienced team

· Travel expenses, tools, and equipment provided

· Room to grow with a company that's investing in its service business

(Compensation and full benefits details will be discussed with qualified candidates.)
