Our Service Team is growing, and we are looking for a Field Service Technician based in Alberta to support our expanding customer base. This role involves traveling to customer sites to install, maintain, and repair equipment while ensuring the highest level of reliability and service. We are seeking a technically skilled professional with experience in electrical or electromechanical systems who enjoys hands-on work, troubleshooting complex equipment, and building strong relationships with customers.

Job Purpose

As part of our Service Team, the Alberta-based Field Service Technician provides on location service and support to our existing customer base. By providing timely, quality repair, maintenance, and installation of our products, this position plays a key role in ensuring our customers experience reliability and superior customer service.

Duties

  • Professional service and install of CNC Router Machines.
  • Trains customers on CNC Router Machines.
  • Resolves product and service-related concerns.
  • Provides customer telephone and online support.
  • Conducts on-site service calls.
  • Provides guidance and support to customers.
  • Works with engineers on product development and system upgrades.
  • Plans and prepares all technical visits.
  • Assists with assembly of machines at Production facilities as required.
  • Completes Service Reports summarizing the progress of service/installation visits accurately.
  • Completes time logs for all on-site customer visits, submits information on-time.
  • Calibrates and setup new machines as well as machines in the field.
  • Maintains a clean work environment on-site and at Production facilities.
  • Represents AXYZ professionally in all respects.

Education and Experience

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Controls Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Experience with CAD-based design software and/or computer science programs is preferred.
  • Experience working with electrical systems up to 600 VAC.
  • Experience in a technical role, preferably involving troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Valid driver’s license and passport with the ability to travel without restrictions.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% or more, depending on workload.
  • Proficiency in using multimeters or other voltage measurement tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • French language skills are considered an asset but are not required.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and handle challenging workplace situations calmly and professionally.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Pre-employment screening required.
