Position Title: Water Treatment Operator

Salary range: $45 per hour + OT after 8 hrs a day


We are currently seeking an experienced Water Treatment Operator for our client, a growing mining operation in Ontario. This is a contract position on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotational schedule.

The successful candidate will operate and maintain the site's wastewater and potable water treatment systems, collect water samples for in-house and laboratory analysis, monitor treatment processes and make adjustments as required, ensure water quality meets regulatory standards, perform routine equipment inspections and field checks, and maintain accurate operational documentation.

Previous water treatment experience, valid Ontario Water Treatment Operator certification, references, Drug & Alcohol testing (D&A), medical clearance, and a Criminal Record Check (CRC) are required.



We are looking for those individuals with a strong work ethic and a good employment track-record and a demonstrated safety record


Main Accountabilities:

• Operate and maintain the wastewater and potable treatment plant

• Collect samples for in house and laboratory analysis

• Monitor the process and make adjustments as required

• Ensure the water quality meets the standards as per the permit effluent and potable water

• Running the equipment and ensuring to complete proper field checks

• Ensure to keep and file required documentation


Main Qualifications:

  • Ontario Certified Wastewater Operator (Class 2)
  • Must be an Ontario Certified Drinking Water Operator (Class 1 or limited surface water)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
  • Experience with MBR and nanofiltration plants would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team member
  • G Class Driver’s license with clean driving record (abstract required if hired)
    • . Must be conversant with OHSA regulations and comply with the site Safety plan and rules.
