Full job description

Device Support Specialist (Toronto)
Field-Based / Full Time / Canada

At Novocure, we are working to extend the lives of patients battling some of the most aggressive cancers. Every role here contributes to that mission - and as a Device Support Specialist, you will work directly with patients and caregivers to help them confidently integrate Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) therapy into their daily routines.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Device Support Specialist (DSS) supports commercial and clinical oncology patients using the TTFields device. You will educate patients and caregivers according to product labeling, provide treatment initiation and ongoing support, and help patients work toward their prescribed usage goals.

This is a full-time, field-based role that combines patient education, technical support, and independent territory management. The DSS collaborates across teams to respond to changing patient and caregiver needs and travels regularly to patient homes, physician offices, and assigned medical centers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Put patients at the center of every interaction by providing compassionate, high-quality care and service in support of our Patient Forward mission
  • Conduct regular in-home patient visits, including TTFields education, treatment initiation, enhanced training sessions, and monthly follow-up visits
  • Provide technical analysis and troubleshooting of patient equipment and replace components as needed through established procedures
  • Collect and analyze patient data and communicate findings through verbal and written follow-up
  • Use virtual visits when appropriate to support patient accessibility and flexibility
  • Serve as the technical representative to assigned medical centers and collaborate with cross-functional team members
  • Follow established timelines, guidelines, and regulatory requirements for patient interactions, training, documentation, and other assigned activities
  • Manage administrative responsibilities including expense reporting, CRM documentation, equipment inventory, home-office logistics, ongoing training, and assessments
  • Maintain assigned fleet vehicle in accordance with administration, maintenance, and cleanliness guidelines
  • Adapt to changing business needs and schedules to ensure seamless patient support

ABOUT YOU

You are comfortable working directly with patients and caregivers and bring empathy, patience, and a service mindset to every interaction. You can explain technical information clearly, follow defined procedures, and remain composed when troubleshooting equipment or responding to changing patient needs.

You are also highly independent and organized. You are comfortable managing a regional territory, balancing patient-facing responsibilities with administrative work, and collaborating with colleagues while working primarily in the field.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, certification in allied health, or relevant work experience preferred
  • Patient-facing experience and the ability to provide compassionate support to patients and caregivers
  • Proficiency in basic computer operations, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, file management, and following test and troubleshooting procedures
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel commercially by air and drive long distances
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Patient care experience in a patient-facing role
  • Experience with Concur and SAP
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French

HOW YOU’LL WORK

  • Work independently within an assigned regional territory while collaborating with cross-functional team members
  • Travel regularly by vehicle and air to support patient care and service needs - up to 80%
  • Travel outside the assigned territory, including occasional overnight stays, may be required
  • Maintain a primary residence within the assigned territory; territory assignments may change based on business needs
  • Attend company meetings both within and outside the assigned territory
  • Maintain flexibility to accommodate changing business needs, patient needs, and schedules
