The Role

We're looking for a hands-on, technically sharp Equipment Installer to join our Service Team in Toronto on a 6-month contract, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time role.

You'll be the face of INNOVA at client sites — delivering, installing, and configuring specialized ophthalmic equipment and making sure everything runs perfectly before you leave. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves solving problems, takes pride in their work, and enjoys building relationships with clients.

What You'll Do

  • Install, configure, and test diagnostic and treatment equipment at client sites
  • Read and interpret installation manuals, floor plans, and schematics
  • Deliver thorough client training on equipment use and care
  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate deliveries, setup, and communication
  • Troubleshoot on-site issues and escalate when needed
  • Keep accurate service records and documentation
  • Maintain your tools, equipment, and vehicle to a high standard
  • Travel locally and regionally, with occasional overnight stays

What You Bring

  • Experience installing or servicing equipment, ideally in a medical or technical setting
  • Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude with the ability to read technical documents and wiring diagrams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-first mindset
  • Passion for learning
  • A self-starter attitude — you're comfortable working independently in the field
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work comfortably in clinical environments
  • technical diploma or trade certification or equavalent

Bonus Points For

  • Hands-on experience with ophthalmic equipment such as slit lamps, OCTs, refractors, or similar
  • Familiarity with brands like Topcon, Zeiss, Haag-Streit, or Nidek
  • Experience in regulated or infection-controlled environments

This is a 6 to 12 month contract position with the potential to become a permanent full-time role based on performance and business needs. Compensation is $47,000 – $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

INNOVA Medical Ophthalmics is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all qualified individuals.
