Who We Are
INNOVA Medical Ophthalmics is Canada's largest distributor of ophthalmic instruments — from cutting-edge diagnostic equipment to advanced treatment lasers. We've been proudly serving the Canadian marketplace for over 40 years, and we're still growing. We're a passionate, close-knit team that takes pride in delivering exceptional service to eye care professionals across the country.
We're always evolving. We look to our team for ideas, we're open to trying new things, and we're not afraid to learn from our mistakes. That's how we've grown — and how we keep growing.
Why INNOVA?
- We've been serving the Canadian marketplace for over 40 years — we're established, stable, and still growing
- We're Canada's leading distributor of ophthalmic instruments and proud of it
- We're a tight-knit team that celebrates the big moments — birthdays, work anniversaries, and everything in between
- We're committed to setting you up for success with the tools, training, and support you need
- We work with innovative, industry-leading technology that makes a real difference in patient care
- We have the best team in the industry
The Role
We're looking for a hands-on, technically sharp Equipment Installer to join our Service Team in Toronto on a 6-month contract, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time role.
You'll be the face of INNOVA at client sites — delivering, installing, and configuring specialized ophthalmic equipment and making sure everything runs perfectly before you leave. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves solving problems, takes pride in their work, and enjoys building relationships with clients.
What You'll Do
- Install, configure, and test diagnostic and treatment equipment at client sites
- Read and interpret installation manuals, floor plans, and schematics
- Deliver thorough client training on equipment use and care
- Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate deliveries, setup, and communication
- Troubleshoot on-site issues and escalate when needed
- Keep accurate service records and documentation
- Maintain your tools, equipment, and vehicle to a high standard
- Travel locally and regionally, with occasional overnight stays
What You Bring
- Experience installing or servicing equipment, ideally in a medical or technical setting
- Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude with the ability to read technical documents and wiring diagrams
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-first mindset
- Passion for learning
- A self-starter attitude — you're comfortable working independently in the field
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record and reliable vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work comfortably in clinical environments
- technical diploma or trade certification or equavalent
Bonus Points For
- Hands-on experience with ophthalmic equipment such as slit lamps, OCTs, refractors, or similar
- Familiarity with brands like Topcon, Zeiss, Haag-Streit, or Nidek
- Experience in regulated or infection-controlled environments
This is a 6 to 12 month contract position with the potential to become a permanent full-time role based on performance and business needs. Compensation is $47,000 – $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
INNOVA Medical Ophthalmics is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all qualified individuals.
