Equipment Coordinator

Slingshot Transportation Inc. is expanding again! We have an exciting new opportunity for an Equipment Coordinator to join our operations in Milton.

The focus of this role is to maintain equipment including AZ Tractors, 53' Trailers both Dry & Reefer and the yards.

Ø Schedule: Monday to Friday 07:00-16:00

Specific job functions will include but not limited to:

Equipment:

Ø As directed initiate all equipment repairs or inspect, investigate all issues and report your findings

Ø Inspect AZ Tractors and 53’ Trailers and report damages & required maintenance

Ø Complete, document and report all inspections of all trailers including reefer equipment and straight trucks

Ø Complete, document and report all monthly mileages for trucks and trailers as per established timelines

Ø Maintain the schedule, pick-up and/or delivery of equipment

Ø Assist with the monitoring of supplies and equipment levels to always ensure availability

Ø Equipment/Tractor inspections to ensure units are running at optimum efficiency

Ø Process all related documentation as directed

Ø Support the ongoing installation, training and maintenance of ELD’s and other tracking software

Yards Maintenance:

Ø Support the monitoring and inspection of all yards including all storage containers. Making sure drivers have all necessary fluids and equipment and the storage areas are kept safe and clean

Ø Perform Yard Checks as directed

Ø Monitor Driver actions in Yards, report any issues to Dispatch Manager, Milton

Ø Keep up to date with current hours of service regulations

Ø Shunting and shuttling of trailers or tractors as required

Asset Operations and General Support:

Ø Support the sourcing and acquisition of new equipment vendors or repair shops

Ø Occasional local deliveries

Ø Assist with maintaining and/or reducing equipment costs

Ø Provide after hours and weekend support as scheduled or required

Ø Sign out of highway drivers prior to departure

Requirements:

Ø Valid AZ License with a minimum 2 years of verifiable driving experience

Ø Experience with the maintenance of 53’ Trailers, (dry & reefer)

Ø Thorough knowledge and understanding of Canadian and U.S. highway, security and safety practices – CVOR, US DOT FMCSR– CSA2010, Load Securement, HazMat/Dangerous Goods, C-TPAT/FAST

Ø At least 2 years Yards and Equipment experience is mandatory

Ø Shipping and Receiving experience an asset

Ø Excellent interpersonal skills

Ø Ability to identify and evaluate malfunctioning equipment and recommend corrective measures

Ø Strong verbal and written English

Ø Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ø Criminal Background check

Ø Clean CVOR / Drivers Abstract
