Full job description

A healthcare-focused medical supply organization operating within the long-term care, clinic, rehabilitation, and institutional healthcare space is expanding its field sales division. The company plays a critical operational role in supporting frontline care providers by supplying essential durable medical equipment and day-to-day clinical consumables used in patient care environments. Their product offering spans a wide range of categories including mobility aids, patient handling equipment, facility furniture, wound care supplies, and general medical consumables that are required to keep healthcare environments functioning safely and efficiently. These products are not optional or “nice to have” items—they are mission-critical supplies that directly impact patient comfort, caregiver efficiency, and overall facility operations. With a strong reputation built on responsiveness, reliability, and consistent service, the organization has become a trusted partner to long-term care homes, retirement facilities, rehabilitation centers, and clinics that depend on dependable supply chains and hands-on support to maintain daily operations.

This is a high-energy, field-based sales role built for someone who thrives outside the office. The individual will spend most of their time on the road, visiting healthcare facilities directly and engaging decision-makers face-to-face. The core of the role is proactive outreach—knocking on doors, building relationships from scratch, and expanding market presence across assigned territory. In addition to new business development, the role involves nurturing ongoing accounts, identifying supply needs within facilities, and ensuring customers have the equipment and products they rely on day to day. Success in this position comes from consistency, persistence, and strong interpersonal presence in a fast-moving, relationship-driven sales environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily in-person visits to clinics, long-term care homes, retirement facilities, and rehabilitation centers, engaging directly with staff and decision-makers to understand ongoing needs and identify opportunities for product support and supply replenishment
  • Actively prospect and develop new accounts through door-to-door outreach and territory-based selling, building a pipeline of healthcare facilities and expanding market presence within the assigned region
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with facility administrators, procurement teams, and healthcare staff by providing consistent follow-up, responsiveness, and dependable service support
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate medical equipment and supply solutions, ensuring facilities are properly equipped to maintain patient care standards and operational efficiency
  • Manage and grow an assigned territory with a strong focus on new client acquisition while also ensuring existing accounts are nurtured and maintained for long-term retention
  • Follow up on quotes, orders, and ongoing supply requirements to ensure continuity of service, timely fulfillment, and a smooth customer experience from order to delivery
  • Coordinate with internal operations and logistics teams to support order fulfillment and customer satisfaction, ensuring accurate communication and resolution of any product or delivery issues
  • Maintain accurate records of activity, pipeline development, and customer interactions within CRM or tracking systems to ensure visibility, accountability, and effective territory management
  • Stay informed on product updates, industry trends, and competitor activity within the healthcare supply market to better position solutions and identify new sales opportunities

Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years of experience in field sales, territory sales, or B2B outside sales roles, ideally with a track record of developing business through in-person relationship building and cold outreach
  • Strong comfort level with daily travel and in-person, door-to-door business development, including working independently across a geographically defined territory
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers in person, particularly within professional or service-based environments
  • Highly self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of managing a full territory without constant supervision
  • Experience selling into healthcare, long-term care, or facility-based environments considered a strong asset, especially within medical supply or service-related industries
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation required, as the role involves significant daily travel between facilities
  • Resilient, energetic, and comfortable working in a performance-driven sales environment where persistence and consistency directly impact success

Compensation

  • $65,000 – $75,000 base salary
  • On-target earnings (OTE) of $100,000 – $120,000 including un-capped commission and/or performance-based incentives tied to sales activity, account growth, and territory performance
  • Field-based role with full territory autonomy and daily travel expectations, offering independence and control over scheduling and client engagement
