BrainStim Health is seeking a part-time TMS Technician to support our South Surrey clinic.

The TMS Technician is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments under the supervision of a psychiatrist or designated clinician. This role involves preparing patients for treatment sessions, operating TMS equipment, monitoring patient safety and treatment response, maintaining clinical equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation.

What You’ll Do

• Administer TMS treatments in accordance with established clinical protocols and physician orders.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate TMS equipment in accordance with established clinical protocols.
• Monitor patients throughout treatment for side effects, adverse reactions, and emotional well-being; escalate clinical concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate clinical records including treatment logs, session notes, and incident reports within the EMR.
• Educate patients about TMS procedures, expected outcomes, and post-treatment care instructions.
• Assist in patient intake and screening processes, including administering rating scales (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7, and other tools).
• · Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, and therapists to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting of TMS equipment; coordinate service and calibration with device vendors.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, privacy, and safety protocols.
• Support clinic operations including patient scheduling, room preparation, and workflow coordination.
• Provide coverage for Reception/Patient Care Coordinator on an as needed basis

What You’ll Bring

• Post-secondary education in psychology, neuroscience, nursing, biomedical engineering, health sciences, or a related field
• Minimum 1 year experience working in a healthcare, mental health, or patient-facing clinical environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients
• Comfortable working with medical equipment, technology, and electronic medical records (EMRs)
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
• Reliable, professional, and patient-centred approach to care
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team

Assets:

• Previous experience administering TMS treatments
• Experience as a TMS Technician, EEG/EMG Technologist, MOA, Nurse, or in a mental health setting
• Familiarity with BrainsWay TMS systems
• Experience with EMRs and clinical outcome measurement tools
• Training in trauma-informed care, Mental Health First Aid, or related areas

Role Details

• Part-time position (15-24 hours per week)
• Work is performed on-site at our South Surrey clinic
• Competitive hourly wage of $23-$25, dependent on experience
