ABOUT THE ROLE

Eye Consultants Hospital is a leading ophthalmic care facility dedicated to preserving and restoring sight through exceptional patient care and advanced medical technology. We are seeking a professional, organized, and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our team.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and a vital link within our clinical team. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment, managing patient flow, and providing administrative support to our physicians and allied health professionals. Your work will directly contribute to a seamless and positive experience for every patient.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Services & Front Desk

  • Warmly greet patients upon arrival, register new and returning patients, and accurately update demographic and insurance information
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments for physicians and specialists using our scheduling system
  • Optimize provider schedules to minimize wait times and gaps
  • Handle all incoming phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries with professionalism and empathy
  • Direct calls to the appropriate staff and take accurate messages
  • Process payments for non-insured services, collect co-pays or outstanding balances, and provide receipts as required

Administrative & Clinical Support

  • Accurately enter patient data, scan and upload documents, and maintain organized digital patient records
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is available for appointments
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and schedule diagnostic testing for patients
  • Process referrals, requisitions, and third-party forms

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience & Education

  • Previous experience in a medical office, hospital, or clinical setting is preferred
  • A diploma or certificate in Medical Office Administration is an asset
