Full job description

Our office currently has a position for a full time or part time law clerk/legal assistant in our personal injury department.

Farsi speaking and having transportation is an asset.

A successful candidate will have the following credentials:

  • Self-starter
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Flexible
  • Excellent organizational skills is a must
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • work cooperatively within a team structure made up of disparate personalities, and foster a sense of teamwork with the broader office support staff.
  • strong attention to detail and the ability to identify the relevance of those details; and if you have the interpersonal skills to foster a positive sense of teamwork
  • Ability to speak farsi is a plus

Duties

  • Answering calls/intake
  • Organize legal documents
  • Open personal injury files
  • Opening files on PCLaw, billing, conflict searches, ID Verification
  • Prepare medical briefs
  • Productions--Drafting and production of letters to insurance companies, doctors, OHIP, police etc.
  • Draft Accident Benefit applications
  • Following up with undertakings, client reporting, and intakes
  • Administrative tasks---scanning, photocopying, answering phones, scheduling meetings, coordinating with clients and respective counsels etc.
  • Helping staff with tasks on need be basis
  • Assisting with marketing efforts.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.60-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:

  • Accident Benefit: 1 year (preferred)
  • Tort: 1 year (preferred)
  • Personal Injury: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: In person

Expected start date: 2021-11-09
